This absolutely adorable cottage is a must-see! Don't let the year built fool you. It's had lots of upgrades and has been very well maintained. With beautiful views of the mountains and Lake Chatuge, you'll love being outdoors on the large open deck. There's also a full-length screen room great for entertaining or enjoying an adult beverage and watching the sun set over the mountains. The interior features hardwood floors through the main level living area (tile in the bathroom) primary bedroom, large living/dining area and kitchen. The second bedroom is an open loft area upstairs. Detached guest suite/studio/she-shed with 1/2 bath great for guests.

With its scenic setting on the shores of Lake Chatuge amid the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, the small city of Hiawassee, Georgia, is home to a large number of outdoor attractions. The city's moniker, which comes from the Cherokee word for "meadow," gives only a hint of the nearby natural wonders. Among them are Brasstown Bald -- at 4,784 feet above sea level, Georgia's highest mountain -- along with numerous hiking trails, scenic overlooks and tumbling waterfalls. Many of the mountain cascades are a short drive south, midway between Hiawassee and the neighboring towns of Blairsville and 30 minutes to Helen. That's right, 30 minutes to Helen, with tubing in the Summer and Oktoberfest and more in the winter, and a German Town all the time!
